Soaring 90′ over the track, the Lighthouse 22mm full-color LED video panels measure 90.1′ high by 16.2′ wide, and are topped off by two 20.8′ wide by 13.9′ high top caps. The vertical pylons and top caps are angled and tilted to give everyone in the grandstands a terrific view. The scoring pylon presents race statistics (placing, times, etc.), high-resolution video, and brilliant animation to race fans.
“We’re proud to be a part of the Homestead-Miami Speedway scoring pylon project,” said Ed Whitaker, General Manager of Lighthouse – The Americas. “Our partner, Panasonic Enterprise Solutions, met the challenge by building the tallest pylon in racing, designed to withstand Florida’s hurricane winds.”

In addition to necessity of surviving hurricane wind loads, Panasonic designed and executed an open-interface front-end control/display system that integrates with NASCAR’s scoring and time system. A Click Effects Blaze controller and support equipment were called on to do the job.
