The XL Center is home to UConn men’s and women’s basketball, and the Hartford Wolf Pack, affiliate of the New York Rangers.
For the 2014-15 season TS Sports has installed Lighthouse Pv6 (6mm), Pv16 (10mm), Pv20 (20mm), Fv16 (16mm), and HD10 LED video panels to create a spectacular, state-of-the-art center-hung LED LED display, corner displays, ribbon displays, vomitory displays, and marquees, totaling nearly 7.6 million LEDs.
LED Video Details
There are multiple Lighthouse LED video displays inside the XL Center. A brilliant center-hung display features 14′ high tight-pitch 6mm displays on all four sides. The long sides of the display measure 29′ wide, while the end displays measure 20.5′ across. Circling the bottom of the center-hung LED display is a Lighthouse Pv20 LED ring, 3.15′ high by 85′ in circumference.
In all four corners of the XL Center are Lighthouse Pv16 LED displays. Two of the corner displays measure 2.5′ high by 37′ wide, while the other measure 7.5′ high by 37′ across. Two ribbon displays, each measuring 2.5′ high by 163′ long, encircle the arena, while eight Lighthouse LED displays hang over the XL Center’s vomitories. Eight auxiliary displays and three large LED video marquees complete the installation. The numerous LED displays coordinate or run independently – depending on the event – providing the audience with sponsor and event information before and after events, while serving as main or auxiliary LED video sources during a wide variety of XL Center events.
“Lighthouse is proud to be a part of the XL Center,” said Ed Whitaker, General Manager of Lighthouse – The Americas. “We have a history with UConn basketball, and have enjoyed our peripheral involvement with their many championships.”
